Announcement of Chancellor Finalists

The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that we have selected three finalists for the position of Chancellor of Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD). We recruited a highly competitive pool of candidates and the finalists were selected from a large and outstanding group of candidates from throughout the region, state and nation.

The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Chancellor finalists are (in alphabetical order):

Lisa Avery, Ph.D.

Lisa Avery, Ph.D. is the President of Portland Community College, Sylvania Campus, in Portland, OR. Previously, she was the Vice Provost of Community Colleges of Spokane, in Spokane, WA. Dr. Avery earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago, IL; and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ball State University, in Muncie, IN.

David Dore, Ed.D.

David Dore, Ed.D. is Campus President and Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development at Pima Community College District in Tucson, AZ. Previously, he was Dean of Instruction for Career and Technical Education at Maricopa Community College District (Mesa Community College) in Mesa, AZ. Dr. Dore earned a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA; a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, DC; a Master of Education from Boston College, in Chestnut Hill, MA; a Master of Theological Studies (Ethics) from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA; a Licentiate of Philosophy in Ethics from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA; and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Gannon University in Erie, PA.

Walter Tribley, Ph.D.

Walter Tribley, Ph.D. is Superintendent/President of Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, CA. Previously, he was Vice President of Instruction of Wenatchee Valley College in Wenatchee, WA and Chief Administrative Officer of WVC - Omak Campus, in Omak, WA. Dr. Tribley earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Washington State University, in Pullman, WA; a Master of Natural Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education and Biological Sciences from the University of Idaho, in Moscow, ID.

Each Chancellor finalist will participate in an open forum. We invite and encourage everyone to attend the open forums. All forums are open to all faculty, administrators, staff, students, and the general public. There will be a brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a written question and answer session. Feedback forms will be given to all who attend, and the completed forms will be collected at the end of each forum and given to the Board of Trustees for review. Video recording of all forums will be made available by Friday, December 14, 2018.
